God wants you to live life slowly

Updated: Feb 10

God wants you to live life slowly. Live life like you are waiting for the repair-man. You know when the repair man gives you a window of time of about 4 hours, to make the neccessary repair? What do you do in 4 hours of waiting? You do things around your apartment or house, or around the business or office, leisurely and thoughfully, with the intention of doing the specific task you choose to do with all your heart, and accomplishing it to perfection, because you are going about it slowly and mindfully. That's the way God wants you to live. He doesn't want you to live life in a frenzy of speed, and fast paced, not knowing which way is up, and just going along with the ways of the world. Romans 6:23 "The wages of sin is death" Jesus paid a high price so that we may live a good life, he has a good plan for us. God has given us a spirit of self control and discipline. Proverbs 25:28 says, "A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls." Self control and discipline are one in the same. Self-control as the fruit of the spirit is discipline. In the Bible, Paul made two lists of these two different lifestyles, one endued by the Holy Spirit, having self-control, and one worldly lifestyle. In Galations 5:19-21 you'll find the result of the worldly, fast-paced lifestyle, 19 "The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God"

The second list is the results of living a life filled with the Holy Spirit, having self-control (discipline), Galations 5:22-26 "22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other" When you live life slowly with self-control and discipline, you are accomplishing a fruit of the spirit, and you are becoming more like Jesus. Work towards living in the other fruits of the Spirit as well. Thank you Father God for helping me be more like Jesus!
