Thinking about the future? How can I know the will of God for my life?
First in Isaiah 58:11 the Bible says, "and the Lord shall guide thee continually." Almighty God shall guide thee. We are so thankful there is a Father above us, controlling all things, , savior before us, so we can walk in his footsteps, and the Holy Spirit within us so that we can find our way in a dark day. God has a special plan just for you. God deals with us as an individual, not in a group, it's just like every snowflake has it's own pattern. God loves you, God has a plan for you."The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord." -Psalms 37:23 God's great plan for us is to Find, follow and to finish God's will for our lives.
In Proverbs 3:1-6 it says, "Don't lean on your own understanding," search for God, "in ALL thy ways, acknowledge him, and he WILL direct thy paths." That's God's word, and it's true. Here are 3 things that you and I are to do:
1-Let God choose the way- We do that two ways. First, you must have a full confidence in the Lord, see in verse 5; "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart", this is the LORD, not just anybody. You can trust God when you know him that way, closer than a brother. In Proverbs 14:12, "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." In Jeremiah 10:23, "it is not in man that walketh to walk in mans steps." The understanding is to come from the Lord, not man.
Proverbs 2:1-6 "and find the knowledge of God, out of his mouth." Get in the word of God, search for God's way just as you would silver and gold and God says you will find it. There must be FULL confidence; trust, but also you must have faithful compliance. In ALL thy ways, acknowledge him. God's plan for your life is a relationship. Acknowledge God in that situation, Lord, what do you want me to do? Lord, what should i do? All that you have belongs to God, not just 10% of everything. A bold prayer for all of us to say is, "Anywhere, anytime, any cost." How? If you trust the Lord with all your heart, it's easy to pray.
2- Let God confirm the way- It's one thing when God chooses the way, but It's another thing for God to confirm it. The Bible says he will direct your path. How does God confirm the way and guide you? There are 4 ways God will confirm the way and direct you:
A- God directs your way by his word. In Psalm 119:05 - "the word is a lamp unto my feet, and a lightunto my path." First, you need to obey the revealed will of God in the scriptures, it is clear in the scriptures what God "does" want. How many treasures are in the Bible that God wants us to inherit? If we just read his word, we shall find them.
B- Through Prayer. God will guide you through prayer, beyond a shadow of a doubt. In
Acts 1:24 "and they prayed and said, thou Lord which knowest the hearts of all men, show which of these two thou has chosen." Prayer is a two way street. God will speak directly to your heart. God will speak directly to your heart.
In Acts 8:29 "then the spirit said unto Philip, go there, and join thyself to this chariot." God will impress your spirit with the Holy Spirit. In Acts 13:2 "the Holy Ghost said separate me, for the work whereto I have called them." The Holy Spirit speaks.
C- Through his Wisdom, that God gives. James 1:5, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally." Here is an unqualified promise, he giveth to ALL men, liberally, not sparingly. Wisdom is sanctified common sense. Don't be afraid to use your mind when it coes to knowing the will of God. When your mind is filled with the spiirt of God, don't be afraid to trust it. Get your heart clean, get your motive clear, search the scriptures, pray and do what you think God wants you to do. 90% of God's will is found between your ears. God gives wisdom, it's sanctified common sense, it's seeing life from God's point of view. God gives you a mind. Why would God renew your mind and not want you to use it? In Romans 12:1, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."
D- God is going to guide you by Providence, when you get in the stream of his mercy. In Revelation 3:7-8 You're gonna find out, God will open doors and God will shut doors. and God will guide you providentially.
And the third thing that you and I are to do is;
3- Let God clear the way- In Proverbs 3:6 it says, "and he will direct your path" hebrew word, yasahir -means to clear the way, make your paths straight. The word direct- clearing obstacles. Isaiah 40:3-4, the ministry of John the Baptist clearing the way for the Messiah. John the Baptist was a bulldozer, making the way for the Messiah. the same phrase for when you get in the will of God, he will go before you and he will clear the way, he will open doors that no man can shut. God will clear the way. God is the heavenly bulldozer. God straightens that road. You have to obey him, lean not unto your own understanding, trust him with all your heart. In all of your ways, acknowledge him. Give it all to Jesus, and trust him. He will choose the way, he will confirm the way and he will clear the way for you.
when you get in the will of God for your life, God will go before you, and God himself will take away any obstacles standing in your way.
You have to obey God, In all of your ways, acknowledge him, lean not unto your own understanding.
Give it to Jesus and trust him, and he will choose the way, he will confirm the way and he will clear the way for you. God will clear the road for you. Amen! Thank you God! God Bless you.
