To be Closer to God

He walks with me and he talks with me and tells me I am his own. These words are more than lyrics in a song. They are reality. God walks with us and he talks with us. Oh how we long to be closer to God, basking in his presence, feeling the love, joy and peace of our savior Jesus Christ and our Father, God.

Communing with God, having conversations with him, whether a small one or large one is possible for you. God longs for an intimate relationship with his children. The veil has been torn, we ALL have access to God, in the throne room of grace. The Bible says, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) Jesus' one time sacrifice on the cross at Calvary when he died, shed his blood for us, and rose again three days later, was enough. "...But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by his own death as a sacrifice." Hebrews 9:26 (NLT) Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for us, "Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us." Romans 8:34 (NLT) When you are saved, you are one of God's children, a child of the Most High God. "Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” Galations 4:6 (NIV) God is our Father. Speak with God, in thankfulness, in prayer, in worship, and mostly in love, "For God so Loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whosever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16 (KJV) He sacrificed his only son, for you!
